While the number of new gym signups and fitness class participation is at an all-time high in January and February, many of these fair-weather exercisers are gone by the spring. Here are a few tips from a Chino Hills boot camp instructor to help you stick with your journey.
CHINO HILLS BOOT CAMP INSTRUCTOR TIP #1: FORM A HABIT.
Experts aren’t exactly sure how many consecutive days it takes to form a new habit, but most studies show that it can be accomplished in as little as 21 days. Therefore, it’s reasonable to expect you can form a healthy habit of exercising three times a week at a Chino Hills boot camp if you stick with it long enough to form a habit – let’s say, a month. So give it your firm resolve and say, “I will not skip a day this month. I will be 100 percent committed!”
CHINO HILLS BOOT CAMP INSTRUCTOR TIP #2: CELEBRATE SMALL VICTORIES.
Take small steps toward your goal. Meet with a Chino Hills Weight Loss instructor to discuss a short term goal. Maybe you want to lose 5 pounds this month or drop a dress size. Maybe you want to decrease your BMI or improve your resting heart rate. Reward yourself for sticking with a full week of boot camp sessions by purchasing new workout clothes or a new pair of sneakers.
CHINO HILLS BOOT CAMP INSTRUCTOR TIP #3: NEVER BE IDLE.
Even though your Chino Hills boot camp only meets three times a week, that doesn’t give you a “free pass” for the rest of the week. Keep your fitness time slot even on your “off” days and fill it with something light – like a meditative yoga DVD or a walk around your neighborhood with a friend or the dog. You want to give your body some recovery, but you don’t want to lose your drive to stay active.
