In the past time, bike was land transportation. People used it to move from one place to another one. But at this modern era, bike is also a life style, especially for younger. Even riding bike competition is admitted as one of international Olympic sport. Now, people from all age range love to ride bike. More people can ride bike than people who can’t ride bike, starting from toddler to old people.
Riding a bike, as sport and daily activity, has several advantageous than others sport, they are:
1. We can ride bike anywhere. Even we don’t need special stadium to ride bike, because we can ride it in the park, street, playground, even yard. Recently folded bike is common to use then we can bring it in bus or public transportation when we want to go for long distance and not reachable by riding bike.
2. We can ride bike anytime. Riding bike is common activity, and we can do it starting from the morning to the next morning without any complain from people, because it doesn’t make any noise, just smooth sound.
3. The price of bike is varied, starting from cheap price to very expensive price. When have no much money, we can buy second hand bike with low price. If we have good money, we can buy the latest bike and stylist one.
4. Riding a bike is an exercise. So when we ride a bike, we have exercise even we don’t call it an exercise. It means doing exercise is no longer specific activity at certain place and tool. Riding a bike is both soft sport and hard sport. When we ride bike for daily activity, it is a soft sport. When we have riding bike competitions, it is a hard sport. That is very good activity.
5. Riding bike is good for heart and health. Most exercise is good for health and heart, but something people have wrong view abut exercise. They think doing exercise at weekend for several hours, not routine every day, is good for health. That is wrong perception, even worse it may give bad impact to our body because our heart is not ready for drastic changing activity.
6. Riding bike is very effective to train our muscle. Many people want strong muscle, but they have no much time to go to gymnastic or spend time for having exercise. So, riding bike is the answer. Riding bike is very good our hand and leg muscle, because we do so many activities which train the muscle of hand and leg.
7. Riding bike is useful to lose and burn our fat. Overweight or obesity is common problem. Many people with obesity want to lose their overweight by doing exercise. Doing hard exercise is very hard to do by people with obesity. Because the body have no enough energy to handle the activity. But riding bike is very easy to do by fat people because it doesn’t take much energy and they just sit and move the feet, and then they get their fat burn.
